BBA Marketing Summit
March 2, 2006We attended the Burlington Business Association marketing summit which was held at the Lake & College Street Performing Arts Center. We were presented a powerpoint presentation of how various organizations market Burlington in their marketing materials.
The three main themes I saw were as follows:
1. Burlington Branding: Many businesses will use Burlington in their name or mention they are Burlington based in their logos and marketing literature and help promote a Burlington “brand”. Examples include Burlington Free Press and Magic Hat.
2. Burlington Photos: Many organizations use Burlington photos of the waterfront and church street marketplace in there marketing literature to show how nice the area is to visit.
3. Partnerships/Collaboration/Packages: Many organizations will either cross-sell, partner or offer packages with related organizations to help boost business for all Burlington businesses.
We at Advantage Creations have always stressed how we are a Burlington-based business and have done some partnering, but not as much as we could and we are lacking in showing Burlington photography, which we certainly have access to and I believe would actually improve the look of our website.
At the meeting it was mentioned that Burlington businesses, visitors and shoppers could use a central website to find all Burlington based business and photos. Perhaps we need to work on that!
